Mel *HUGS* ya for posting that pic. Being a former firefighter, that pic means ALOT! I want so badly to be able to be in New York and helping with the rescue efforts, but since i have left the fire company after my accident, i cant. There is definitely a brotherhood with firefighters, one that goes beyond fighting fires. Even with those you dont know, there is a bond there that cannot be described. I just wish the rest of the world could be bonded like that. It would end alot of fighting everywhere. All the talk about war scares the hell out of me. I have many friends here that would most likely end up fighting if it goes to that. And seeing the casualties of just auto accidents and fires, i cannot imagine the war casualties! And the thing that im not looking forward to is the day they find all the lost firemen and have the ceremony for them. There is NOTHING in this world more moving and emotional than a firemens procession. I have been to one and one only here in PA because emotionally i cant handle it. Anyone who knows me knows how bad i get. And to think how many more people we would lose if we go to war is heartbreaking. There are no simple solutions to this problem unfortunately. I agree the terrorists and the people that support them should pay for what they have done and not a whole country. All we can do is hope and pray Bush does the right thing. This is his chance to prove himself and all we can do is sit and watch. *sigh*

complaining about things you can't change?.... heidi change is somethin that you have to work for.... it's foolish to say we can't change the way things are cuz history proves different.... there are many things that people didn't think could be possible.... but with a good idea and enough people behind it who knows what you can or cannot change.... there has to be a begining somewhere.. even if it's sensless arguing on a hostboard.... who knows.. maybe someone from here will one day have an answer or a better solution to the worlds problems.... but first ya gotta look at somethin from all angles.... and i think thats what were doin.... we might be goin around in circles for the most part... and we may be wasting our time.... but i don't see it that way.... i dunno bout everyone else but i learn alot by discussing issues on here.... and as for praying to GOD.... well i'd rather not.... i am not a man of prayer i'm a man of action.... i will not pray that there are less casualties.... i will fight so that their are no casualties.... that is the goal that we should aim towards.... as far fetched as it sounds you can't achieve somethin if you never try... i just don't want you to say we "can't" heidi... it sets everything up for failure right from the beginning

I should have really said consider everyone's feelings when you post on the board because from what I see, there are few that believe the foundation of America is being destroyed by President Bush. There are plenty of people in this country that are signing up to go to war. President Bush doesn't have to ask them as they are doing it willingly. It's true your statement about having a right to be heard, but you should consider your audience; in this case a lot of patriotic people hurting from the tragedy.

Please note President Bush was in Florida reading to a classroom of children when the attack started. The Secret Service took the necessary precautions to keep the President safe. Do you really think the Secret Service would allow any President to go storming up to the enemy in hand to hand combat? I doubt your Prime Minister would be allowed to do the same.

I said I wasn't going to reply to your post on the board because you are young. I remember being your age and I know there's no arguing or even discussing with you. I was trying to be nice and suggest you don't hurt people's feelings as I think everyone has been hurting enough lately.
